Yetta Kurland Petitions Delivered to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman

Dear Neighbor,

I just returned from an exciting trip to deliver over 7,000 of your signatures to our Attorney General Eric Schneiderman this morning to ask that he join in our community’s efforts to block the sale of St. Vincent’s to the Rudins unless and until the plan includes a hospital.  I just want to personally thank you for the time you took to sign the petition, to circulate it to others and help in tabling to get others’ signatures.  Below is a picture that I hope will make you understand how important your work was and how greatly it is appreciated.

Now, I hope you will join me tonight for the CB2 meeting at 6:30pm at the Village Community School on W. 10th Street and Greenwich, where the Rudins are attempting to move forward with efforts to turn St. Vincent’s into luxury condos.

In fact, documents that have recently surfaced, and which I attach here (see below), seem to make clear that not only have the Rudins not gotten all the approvals they need, the approvals they do have require them to build a hospital at the site and these approvals cannot now be transferred for a different plan to build luxury condominiums and an urgent care center.

Hope to see you tonight.
